Everything Happens For a Reason

In life, it is easy to get stuck in the moment, taken down to the ground by your struggles and left to feel as if there is no hope for better days. I know I’ve had my share of issues to contend with that have caused me more than enough stress and anxiety, from divorce to money problems and more, and no doubt you’ve had your share too.

But one thing I always remind myself is that everything happens for a reason. I may not see it today. I may not see it tomorrow or the next day. I may not EVER see it, but that doesn’t mean that things didn’t work in my favor, benefiting me without necessarily realizing it at the time.

How many times have you heard stories of people who had to fall down so violently and so far in order to find the courage, strength, and determination to make it to the top? Look at all of the wildly successful people in this world and they’ll tell you that although their journey wasn’t always easy, it was necessary to get them where they are today.

The problem with struggles is that a lot of people feel as if they are placed in their life in an effort to break them. However, just the opposite is true. They are there to make you stronger.

It is your struggles that help prepare you for the greatness that you’re about to encounter. Maybe they will make you more compassionate, causing you to become a doctor, nurse, or enter some other helping profession. Perhaps they are placed in your life to help you not take advantage of all of the blessings that you have; blessings that others aren’t as fortunate to enjoy.

No matter what things are currently happening in your world (be it loss of a loved one, health issues, or anything else), whether you understand and even agree with them is truly irrelevant. They are occurring for a reason so take everything from them that you can, which almost ensures that you will emerge victorious on the other side.

If you’re about to lose your home, for instance, it just might be because a better home awaits you elsewhere. A home that you can raise your family in without worrying about whether the roof will leak again or if you’re in a safe neighborhood where your children can play without worrying about who or what they will encounter.

Battling with your health may feel like a death sentence is upon you, but maybe it is happening to get you to truly appreciate life. And it may even shock you when you are cured against the odds, further affirming that your job here on this earth is not complete.

Admittedly, the hardest reasons to understand are the ones that never appear. It may be the potentially fatal accident that you missed on the interstate because you were busy cleaning up dog puke that morning or the carjacking that you avoided because roadwork caused you to detour. You’ll never know what you have been saved from simply because “things didn’t go your way.”

There is a reason for everything, so make the best out of your circumstances. You never know what lies ahead, but it is there to advance you in some fashion so don’t waste it.
